Andante Hotel Princesa is an interior renovation project that seeks to recover the order, sobriety and elegance of a building from 1858 through a contemporary approach located in the heart of the Ciutat Vella District.
As the main axis of the project, the renovation starts from the binomial of served space versus serving space, rearranging the existing program to free up and recover the front of Carrer Princesa and move all service spaces to the back. This is reflected in the project through the use of monochromatic boxes that configure the bathroom and entrance of the rooms. This boxes integrate all the functional elements and services of the accommodation. In contrast sleeping and relaxing spaces are configured around stucco walls and walnut wood, upholstery and furniture all beneath a very texturized ceiling.
Following the same criteria, the common spaces repeat this duality of uses representet through monochromatic spaces with meeting rooms, bathrooms and buffets but restaurant, lobby and terrace areas in more neutral tones
