Malaga, the cultural capital of the south is a dynamic and vibrant city full of surprises.
Right in the centre, close to the Malagueta beach and next to the Plaza de Toro stands a historical building designed by Julio O’Brien in 1906 in the Parisian fin de siècle style as the headquarters of the Compañía de los Ferrocarriles Andaluces.
With 10.500m2 and four floors, the building is organized around four courtyards and a central staircase; and although only the facades and the courtyards keep the original features, the masonry structure remains relatively unchanged..
The intention of the project is to keep the essence of the palace by turning it into a five star hotel with 146 bedrooms and 8 suites.
The traditional order of elements here has been changed by placing the restaurant and most of the common areas on the 4th floor, to take advantage of the wood-structured roof and the terrace.
All the interior design, by Jaime Beristain, emphasizes the Palatial experience using noble materials and details than establishes a dialogue with the grand façade .
