Santa Marta

2025

The Hotel Santa Marta, located in the privileged cove of Santa Cristina, represents the best the Mediterranean has to offer: 8 hectares of pine trees ending at the sea, the sand of a pristine cove, and a sky between the two that seems to stretch on forever.

From its inception, Santa Marta has embodied the meeting point between “dolce far niente” and “dolce vita,” representing the quintessence of understated luxury, even before the term existed.

The commission was undeniably complex, as it sought to renovate all the spaces adjacent to the beach without losing the essence of a unique place that doesn't need to resemble any other.

The project aims to blur the boundaries between the mountain and the beach, so that where there was only a lawn, we now find a diffused edge at different levels where the forest gradually meets the sea. This allows for the creation of different areas of interaction: some under the shade of the pine trees, others more linked to the sun, and within this interplay of sun and shade, an infinity pool is created that functions as a tiered seating area overlooking the sea, a massage area in the shade of the pine trees, an arrival plaza from which the sea is accessed and which acts as a hinge between the restaurant and the pools… all of this playing with a topography that, through walls and slopes, allows for the concealment of changing rooms as well as the technical areas.
